Government cancels decision after senate disallowance motion looms.

The changes were introduced approximately a month ago and were not popular as they effectively doubled the amount required in order to sponsor a parent.

The Government had planned to increase minimum income requirements for a visa scheme. Concerns over family re-unions saw the government backdown. Any existing applications after April 1 will use the previous requirements.
