Standard Business
Sponsorship Applications
A sponsorship application is submitted directly by an Australian business (or eligible organisation) to the Department of Home Affairs to become an approved sponsor (commonly referred to as Standard Business Sponsor or SBS approval).
This approval is a prerequisite for sponsoring overseas workers under key employer-sponsored visa programs, including the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) (which replaced the former Temporary Skill Shortage/TSS visa framework in late 2024) and the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494).
