Changes mean a new pathway to Permanent Residency in Australia

A new visa has been announced by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. The changes took effect on 10 September 2016 and created new streams within the Business Innovation and Investment visa class.This visa is for entrepreneurs who meet all the following criteria:

  • ‘high calibre entrepreneurs’ with $200,000 financial backing from third parties in Australia, including government agencies;
  • who are nominated by a State or Territory government;
  • who meet residence requirements; and
  • complete successful entrepreneurial activities in Australia
