State Nominated Visas
In addition to employer sponsored pathways, West Aussie Migration assists clients with state and territory nominated visas under the points tested General Skilled Migration program. These visas are nominated by a state or territory government, rather than sponsored by an employer, and the most suitable visa subclass and nominating jurisdiction will depend on the applicant's occupation, skills assessment, and points score.
Subclass 190, Skilled Nominated Visa
This is a permanent visa for nominated workers with a skill set in an occupation needed by the nominating state or territory. To be considered, an applicant generally needs:
- A suitable skills assessment for a relevant occupation
- Enough points to meet the points test
- To meet the requirements set by the nominating state or territory, which can include a commitment to live and work in that state or territory
Subclass 491, Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa
This is a provisional visa for nominated or family sponsored workers who will live and work in a designated regional area of Australia. Visa holders are subject to a visa condition requiring them to live, work, and study only in a designated regional area. After three years, and once the income and residence requirements are met, holders may become eligible to apply for the subclass 191, Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa.
Because nomination criteria, occupation lists, and points requirements differ between states and territories and are updated regularly, we assess each client's eligibility individually before an expression of interest is submitted.
